Reese in Plymouth, MI

A happy, chill companion. Meet Reese a handsome, 5-year-old tricolor male who came into rescue when his family’s living situation changed. Reese has made himself at home with his foster family. He gets along well with the other Cavaliers in the home and enjoys going on walks around the property with everyone.

While in foster care, Reese has easily adjusted to the routine. He sleeps in his crate at night (the crate is next to his foster mom’s bed) and is gated in the kitchen with his foster siblings when his foster mom leaves the house. But he is much happier when his foster mom is home. She works from home, so Reese spends most of his days happy as a clam on a dog bed next to his foster mom. He likes to follow her around from room to room when she is not sitting at her desk. Reese has been licking his hair while in foster care, which may be a sign of separation anxiety. So, he will do best in a fur-ever family with someone home during the day.

Reese has good house manners, not having any accidents while at his foster home. He sleeps through the night (10 pm – 7 am) without needing any potty breaks.

In his previous home, Reese exhibited reactive behavior when he’d see another dog through the family fence. He showed similar signs while in foster care (at the vet he was pulling on his leash and barking at a dog he saw in the parking lot). This behavior seems to occur when he sees another dog. But when he is in the home and interacting with other dogs, he is perfectly fine. For this reason, he would do best in a home with some property (his foster home is on 2-acres), so he is not too close to neighboring dogs. Aside from this behavior, Reese is generally a go-with-the-flow fellow.

In the evening Reese likes to nap on the back cushion of the couch near his foster family. Although he sleeps in a crate at night, he makes himself at home on the people bed during the morning and evening. Reese would not object to having the opportunity to remain there all night. He travels well in the car.

Reese is a sweetheart of a dog: laid-back, friendly, full of unconditional love!

He will need a fur-ever home with someone home during the day for potty breaks and short walks. He will settle in best at a home with a routine and moderate activity level.

Reese is up-to-date on his vaccinations, has been micro-chipped, and is neutered.
