Romeo in Summerville, SC
“Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?”
This Romeo is most often found curled up in his foster mom’s lap — sometimes belly-up, happily soaking in massages and belly rubs.

Romeo is a 5-year-old Blenheim boy, born on 11/25/20. He is a sweet, gentle love sponge who will steal your heart simply by gazing into your eyes. He’s an excellent listener who adores everyone he meets — including other dogs and even cats. Romeo is happiest when his family is together. He thrives on companionship and also enjoys a good game of fetch!

Hopelessly devoted and eager to please, Romeo forms deep bonds with his people. He came to Cavalier Rescue USA after his beloved owner became ill and could no longer care for him.
Romeo would do best in a home with active owners who can include him in daily activities, or with someone who is home most of the time. Being with his family is what he loves most — aside from food and treats, of course!

He is housebroken with regular walks and will grumble at the door to let you know when he needs to go out. If his signal is missed, he may have an occasional accident. Romeo loves long walks, trips to the dog park, and outings to hardware and pet stores. He walks well on leash but may pull if he spots a bird, rabbit, or squirrel. A fenced yard would be ideal.
Romeo weighs 27 pounds and is in good health. His heart and hips/joints are currently sound. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.

Romeo does have environmental dermatitis and will require ongoing dermatology care to prevent flare-ups. Skin testing can help determine triggers and guide treatment, which may involve daily medication or a quarterly injection. He will also need at least two baths per month using a high-quality anti-itch or oatmeal shampoo.
He recently had dental care completed, including the extraction of seven teeth. Romeo eats ½ cup total (combined dehydrated food and kibble) twice daily — morning and evening. During the day, he enjoys healthy store-bought treats along with fresh fruits and vegetables.
