Rusty in Middletown, PA

Meet Rusty, a handsome gentleman looking for his forever home.

If you are a fan of bigger Cavaliers, then Rusty is the boy for you. Rusty is estimated to be about three years old and has all of the typical Cavalier traits, but in a larger, taller package.

Rusty was living with a Good Samaritan who had a soft spot for dogs in need. However, the Samaritan’s landlord was not happy about an extra dog, so rescue was contacted.

While in rescue Rusty was vaccinated, microchipped and was neutered.

Rusty is in good health. His teeth are in great condition as well. He has lost weight since coming into rescue, but at 28 pounds, he should try to lose a couple more pounds to get to his ideal weight.

Rusty is house trained and crate trained. He sleeps in his crate or in a dog bed.

Rusty walks nicely on a leash, especially when a harness is used.

He wasn’t a fan of being brushed at first but he has gotten more tolerant. He is working on learning basic commands.

Sudden movements and loud noises can frighten Rusty, so a home without young children is best for him.

He is a fan of snuggling next to the humans on the couch and often lays across your lap.

Rusty’s favorite thing is a belly rub. He will often flop over and expose his belly and look at you with pleading eyes and hope you get the hint that he is due for a belly rub. And don’t think that once a day is enough… this boy needs belly rubs several times a day!

Rusty is a sweet, snuggly TV watching buddy who is obsessed with belly rubs.
