Solomon in Dillsburg, PA

Solomon was surrendered to rescue after his owner’s health made it too difficult to take care of him. His birthday is 8/30/22. The first thing you will notice about Solomon is his size. At 42 pounds, he is large for a Cavalier, but has started to lose weight. He needs to lose about 15-17 lbs to get to a more ideal weight for his frame.

Solomon’s foster mom refers to him as a big fluffy marshmallow. This sweet Blenheim boy is very friendly. He adjusts easily to new surroundings and gets along with other dogs. He is house trained and hasn’t had any accidents in foster care.

Solomon is a velcro Cavalier and will become attached to his new family quickly. He loves to go for walks. He doesn’t have a lot of endurance yet, but likely will go further when he loses some more weight. He can also get overheated, so several short walks would be best. His new owners should be committed to his weight loss with diet and exercise routines. A fenced yard would also be great for Solomon so he can explore and get outside often.

Even though he is friendly, a home without children would be best for Solomon. He needs a gentle touch with grooming. He loves scratches in some areas, but is sensitive in others. He tolerates baths well. He will play with toys and chew bones, but he doesn’t need to be entertained much. He sleeps well at night on the floor beside his foster’s bed.

This big boy is very healthy! Besides needing to lose weight, Solomon has no health issues. He is up to date on vaccines and microchipped.
