Sophie in Gettysburg, PA

Hi! My name is Sophie, well that’s what my name is now. You see, I went out for a walk one day with my human, but eventually found myself wandering around outside alone. I was really scared but I found my way to the road and saw two ladies walking nearby. I was so happy to see them, I ran right over to say hello. They didn’t see my person either, so they took me in their car, and we drove to the vet because they could tell I wasn’t feeling well and I was bleeding. The vet said I had something called a UTI and two ear infections. He gave me medicine and the two ladies took me to the groomer for a bath and a haircut, and I felt so much better! The two ladies liked me a lot and I liked them. They called Cavalier Rescue USA to see if they could help. We tried to find my owner but they were never found.

Now I am in a foster home. It’s really nice here, and I get along with my two foster sisters, but I would hope a nice family will adopt me. I am feeling so much better these days. My ears are good and my UTI is gone. And I just got my teeth cleaned so they look great too! I’m a bigger Cavalier weighing in at 21 lbs. I was told that I’m 4-5 years old.

Here are a few more things about me. I go potty outside, and only had one accident when I first came here. I’m a great car rider, but could use a little bit more leash training. I sleep in my crate at night, and will stay quiet until someone comes down to get me. I don’t jump on beds or furniture unless I am asked to.

I’m not too excited over toys, but if you throw one, I will chase it. I love meeting new people and I like when they pet me. I can’t remember if I like babies or toddlers, but I do like the neighborhood kids and they like me. A four-legged canine brother or sister would be great, but I would be just as happy as an only child as long as I have a family that is home most of the time so I have someone to take me for walks and pet me and rub my belly!

If you think your family would be a good fit for Sophie and are within 3 hours or less from Gettysburg, PA, please fill out an application if you haven’t already and then email cavalierrescueusapa@gmail.com so they know you are interesting in becoming my new family.
