Meet St. Nicholas — an 8-year-old (birthday 9/1/17) gentleman with ruby good looks and a heart full of love. This handsome boy is the definition of a love bug. He adores being petted and getting belly rubs, is wonderful with kids, and is happiest curled up beside his people — whether that’s snoozing on the couch or snuggling in bed with you. Don’t let his cozy side fool you though — he still has a playful streak and proudly runs after squirrel friends, so a fenced yard is a must for this little adventurer.

St. Nicholas loves his person and isn’t shy about showing it — he’ll happily greet you with excited chatter when you come home because he’s ready for your love and affection. He grew up with multiple dogs and does well with canine companions, but he’d also be perfectly content as your one-and-only. He was deeply loved and well cared for by his previous owner, and it shows in his sweet nature and trusting spirit.

He is house trained, though he doesn’t signal when he needs to go out, so his adopter should plan to let him outside every few hours. He currently wears a belly band overnight since he has been known to occasionally lift his leg indoors early morning. 

He weighs about 25 pounds and could stand to lose a pound or two to stay in tip-top shape. He is neutered, microchipped, current on core vaccines and on heartworm preventatives. He had an echocardiogram and was diagnosed with a grade B2 heart murmur. He has been started on Vetmedin and he happily gobbles it up like a treat.
