Teddy in Arlington, VA

Meet Teddy! Teddy (or “Teddy Bear” as he’s affectionately known) is a 9-month-old Tricolor Cavalier born 12-22-25. This sweet boy came into the rescue with his littermate brother as an owner surrender after their family suffered a loss. Despite the sad circumstances, Teddy has settled right into foster life, snuggling up to his foster parents and resident pup, eating treats and making all kinds of friends in the neighborhood!

Teddy is confident, friendly and outgoing and happily approaches any human (including children) for a quick hello and pet. He is excited and eager to play with other dogs, his favorite toys (lambchop has been a favorite!) or happily chew on a puppy-safe bone. He loves to snuggle on the couch, and has a tendency to plop himself down in your lap for a little snooze.

Teddy is a healthy puppy weighing around 18lbs. While he is likely as tall as he will get, he will fill out as he matures. He will make a perfect puppy for someone who can give him the mental and physical stimulation he needs to grow into a perfect Cavalier companion. He is now on monthly preventatives, is up-to-date on his vaccines, and will need to be neutered by the time he turns 1.

He is house trained, though he is refreshing on this. With a consistent routine and potty breaks every 3-4 hours, Teddy does a great job staying accident free! 

Teddy has typical rambunctious puppy energy – he loves to play and go on walks (so much to sniff!), but he settles in easily and takes nice long naps. He is very sweet and determined and has his own little quirks – like jumping up and sitting on the back of the couch like a cat! He is like a little duckling – he’ll follow you around the house and just wants to be with you (he likes to be on standby for any crumb drops in the kitchen)! Since Teddy grew up with a puppy brother, he’d do great in a home with another pup, but is confident enough to be the “man of the house” with the right family.

Teddy is still new to foster and city life so he is getting more confident with city sounds, walking on a leash, going potty outside, and basic commands. He knows “sit” and is very treat motivated so will be a fast learner! He would benefit from a puppy training class where he can continue to sharpen his social skills. He is happy to ride in the car, is brave at the vet and doesn’t mind being in his crate for short stints.
