Teddy in Longmont, CO

Let’s meet Teddy! As with Velcro Cavaliers, Teddy’s motto, along with his mission in life is, “You will never be alone again!  I will be your forever best friend!” and… “You will never be alone again!” This works because Teddy has a heart full of love and devotion that he will happily share with his new forever family!

Teddy came in to rescue due to anxiety/separation issues in his first two homes. In foster care, Teddy has been carefully monitored with daily anxiety medication and he is doing so much better. From the moment he arrived at his foster home, Teddy has been discovering that life doesn’t have to be so scary. He is happiest being in the home hanging out with his foster mom or enjoying the companionship of his foster siblings in his own private fenced secure and safe backyard. Teddy loves to play and meet other little dogs. He loves to meet people… as long as he is with his foster mom! Teddy has decided that the outside world is big and kind of scary unless his foster mom is there to keep him safe and secure.

Teddy is a sweet little Blenheim boy who will turn three years old on June 28th. His birthday wish is to find his forever family, who will understand him and love him to the moon and back! He is a perky, fun little guy who is so darned cute that he will melt your heart!

Teddy enjoys a regular routine, a calm household, kitties and being with you! He knows a few basic commands…sit, stay and dance on hind legs for a treat. Teddy is an early riser! Up with the sun or a bit before… mornings make Teddy very tail-waggin’ happy… he absolutely loves mornings! After breakfast, potty time and a treat, it’s game on! His stuffed toys provide the entertainment… favorite morning games are “Where’s your Puppy?”  “Get that Gumby!”  and “Find the Creature!” Teddy also loves backyard zoomies…and WOW, he is fast!

Evenings are bit more mellow… Teddy would like you to go to bed early evening time … 7:30 pm. When this doesn’t happen, he will find a spot near you and snooze away, waking up every now and then to make sure you have not tip-toed away. A perfect evening for Teddy is when you do go to bed early to snuggle and read a book. However, if Teddy goes to bed too early, you will find yourself up in the wee small hours of the morning for potty time.

What else does Teddy enjoy? He will go for short walks near his foster home, but prefers to go out and about in a puppy pouch. It keeps him close to his foster mom and is the perfect spot to be petted and admired by all who meet him. Going out for coffee is great as long as there is a nice lap to sit on. Shopping is fun and can be a nice, safe adventure. Everyone thinks Teddy is just the cutest little guy!

Teddy is at his perfect weight of 15 pounds. He is microchipped and current on necessary vaccinations. He had a wellness exam while in foster care which included a negative heartworm test, no physical problems were found and no heart murmur was detected. His teeth are in good shape and did not need a dental cleaning.  Physically, he is in great shape!

Teddy is on a daily anxiety medication which is less than $10 a month. The medication can be adjusted depending upon how active his day may be or if he might be alone at home when his foster mom needs to run to the grocery store or run errands without him. Teddy can be picky about eating breakfast but is enthusiastic about eating supper. His perfect home would be a family or special someone who will understand his separation anxiety and his fear of the outside world. Being patient, loving and kind is a must!

The perfect home would have other small, friendly dogs for Teddy to play with and add security to his world. Teddy enjoys short, quiet walks around the neighborhood as long as he is walked with a sibling or two. Having other dogs in the household is a must! When Teddy becomes anxious in the outside world, he will sit down, refuse to move, look up at you with his big brown eyes and wait to be picked up by you. Teddy loves car rides that have no destination…he is very happy and calm driving around.

Teddy is the perfect companion if you are a home body. He needs to be near his person most of the time. His separation anxiety might become better with time but there is no guarantee. Teddy is sweet, loving and deserving of finding a forever home that is a perfect fit for him and for you. He had two former homes before coming to rescue and his foster mom wants to make sure that the third time is the charm for little Teddy. All he wants is to be with you, usually at home and to feel safe and secure.
