Toby in Nashville, TN

Say hello to Toby! Toby is a 1-year-old Chocolate & Tan Cavapoo born 2/28/2025. Toby has a heart as rich as his beautiful coloring and a personality that will instantly win you over. Weighing 30 pounds, Toby is a unique “reverse F1b,” meaning he is 75% Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and 25% Poodle, giving him a truly one-of-a-kind look to match his lovable nature. With his ever-wagging tail and bright, happy spirit, Toby brings joy wherever he goes.

Toby was surrendered due to a change in his family’s circumstances, through no fault of his own. He is the definition of a “velcro dog.” He absolutely adores his people and wants to be by your side at all times – whether that’s following you from room to room, curling up next to you on the couch, or snuggling in close at bedtime. He is incredibly affectionate and generous with his kisses, always ready to remind you just how much he loves you. While he may get a little excited when greeting you after time apart, he quickly settles into a calm, easygoing companion who is happiest simply relaxing at home with his humans.

Toby is also great with children and would thrive in a home with kids age 5 and over. He has a gentle, social nature and enjoys being part of the action, making him a wonderful family companion who wants to be included in everyday life.

Toby has a naturally curious personality and is very observant – he enjoys watching the world around him, keeping an eye on people, and paying close attention to new sounds and activity in the home. It just means you may need to keep a watchful eye on him at times as his curious nature can lead him to investigate things he shouldn’t! He has a playful side as well and will happily entertain himself by chewing on toys, especially when he’s in the mood for a little fun.

Toby also loves other dogs and truly enjoys having canine companionship. He would do wonderfully in a home with another mild-mannered dog who can be both a playmate and a source of comfort. Toby does experience some separation anxiety, and having a canine sibling helps boost his confidence and ease those feelings when his people are away.

In foster care, Toby has started learning basic manners like “sit,” “off,” and “stay.” He’s a smart boy who is eager to please, but he will need an adopter committed to continuing his training and reinforcing positive behaviors to help him become his very best self. He is already crate-trained and fully house-trained, giving him a strong foundation to build on. Toby enjoys going for walks, exploring new surroundings, and is a fantastic, calm car rider.

Toby is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all vaccinations. While in foster care, he was also successfully treated for an ear infection and is now healthy and comfortable.

While Toby may be a bigger boy, his personality is all Cavalier – gentle, loving, playful, and deeply devoted. He is the kind of dog who forms a strong bond with his people and will be a loyal companion through and through. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate dog who will happily be your shadow and your snuggle buddy, Toby may just be the perfect match.

Toby is ready to find a home where he can continue learning, be showered with love, and spend his days close to his favorite people. In return, he promises a lifetime of companionship, loyalty, and endless tail wags.
