OMG!!! Everyone needs a Trudy to love!! Trudy is a curious, energetic love bug that’s ready to steal your heart! She was given to rescue by a family with rambunctious young children where there was not enough time to invest in the pup.

Trudy is a beautiful, black and tan girl born June 15th of 2023 with long curly fur. She weighs 15.5 lbs. is up to date with her vaccinations, is microchipped, spayed and in excellent health. Trudy is fearless and playful as she runs the yard, nose to the ground exploring every nook and cranny before coming in to cuddle. 

What you will love about her:

• A love bug. Loves be with her family 
• Housebroken. NO accidents the entire time in foster care. Just let her out frequently and all are happy!
• Dog-friendly! Comfy with canine buds! 
• No fur on the couch kind of gal. Likes cozy places but only get on the furniture or your lap when you put her there.
• Crate-trained and trustworthy indoors. Free roams when alone without issue.
• Loves car rides. A perfect co-pilot for our adventures.
• Playful and smart. Loves to learn and so far, knows how to sit for a treat. Willing to learn more. Loves cuddles, chewing on toys and chasing her tail. 
• Has balanced energy. Plays hard and when it’s time to chill entertains herself with a chew toy or a nap.

Areas where patience is required:

• Pick her up slow, steady and gently. Easily startled and nervous when someone wants to pick her up even though she definitely wants you to do it for cuddle time.
• Leash manners need work. Tends to tug like a big dog! Loves to go on walks and is eager to explore and does so with incredible energy.
• Recall isn’t reliable yet. Will need a securely fenced yard or many acres to roam where she can’t get into trouble.
• She gets excited when she smells a critter in the ground and will try to dig it up.
• Doesn’t like to be brushed and with her gorgeous thick hair it needs it. Short, gentle grooming sessions without pulling will become a favorite activity in time.

Trudy thrives with positive reinforcement and structured routines. She likes it when her people are home with her and shouldn’t be left home alone for long periods of time, She is eager to learn and will do best in a home that offers calm energy, no very young children and a family ready to engage her active mind and body.
