Victoria in Rogersville, MO
Meet Victoria!

Victoria is a five-year-old, sweet-natured, easygoing girl who loves to cuddle. She was born on November 26, 2020. Victoria was used for commercial breeding and is now retired. Victoria came to rescue through a Good Samaritan who obtained her from a shelter.

Victoria has a heart full of love to give. She enjoys being part of the family and playing with her Cavalier housemates. She loves having her ears scratched and hanging out with her foster Mom.

Victoria is an active dog who plays with toys, chews bones, and chases balls. Whenever you squeak her toy, Victoria comes running! Toss a ball, and she happily goes after it. To Victoria, anything can be a toy, including items from the laundry basket, slippers, towels and more. She doesn’t chew on them; she just likes to carry them around.
She also loves chasing butterflies and will jump into the air to catch them. She isn’t very successful because the butterflies always escape.

Victoria’s happy place is around people, and she barks in protest if left alone. However, the complaining only lasts for a few minutes, and then she settles down. Victoria wants you to know she would rather not be left behind! Sometimes her foster Mom gives her a yummy treat or bone with peanut butter to lick when she leaves the house. In this case, Victoria doesn’t protest. She loves treats and food of any kind!

During quiet times, Victoria is a snuggler and nestles as close as she can to you. If she cannot get close, she will find a spot to lie down near you. At bedtime, Victoria goes willingly into a crate and sleeps all night. In the morning, she enjoys a snuggle in bed. She has not yet mastered the doggie steps, but she is getting better at climbing them.

Victoria is a quick learner who comes when called and walks politely on a leash. However, the outside world is still new to her, and she may be a bit skittish when she encounters something unfamiliar.
Victoria has a high food drive and wants to please, which will make training easier. She already knows sit and is working on down. If a correction is needed, she responds well to a firm voice. She promptly stops what she is doing and looks to you for direction.

Victoria is potty trained and reliable on a schedule. She can be trusted for up to four hours inside. Accidents in the house are rare. Typically, she follows her Cavalier housemates outside. Sometimes Victoria gets distracted and doesn’t do her business. Therefore, it’s important to ensure to completes the job. A regular schedule and supervision are necessary while Victoria acclimates to the household routines of his forever home.

Victoria is healthy and up to date on all medical needs. She is microchipped, spayed, and had a dental cleaning with a few extractions. She is recovering well from both surgeries. Her heartworm test was negative, and she is on monthly preventative tick, flea and heartworm medication.
Victoria will make an ideal companion for active individuals and families. She will do best in a home with established routines and another easygoing dog.
