Here is Willie with his new dad…

My name is Willie and I am around a year old. My birthday is unknown because I was rescued from a breeding operation with lots of others and we had nothing but our charm and good looks! I was taken to the vet and I was healthy except for ear infections. They were treated and now I have clean, healthy ears! I was neutered, got Heartworm and flea prevention, had my vaccinations, a microchip and sent to my foster home with a dad and some other Cavalier friends. 

I am active and love to play with other dogs and toys (and chew up dog beds and foster dad’s pillows). I am learning how to control myself and respond to NO. Even though I am young, my early months were spent without much human contact. It has taken a long time and lots of support from my foster dad to learn that being with people is a positive and rewarding experience. I still need to approach you first because I will spook or jump away if you reach for me, particularly if I don’t see you initially. 

I have discovered the TV and will bark if I see a dog on the big screen. I know how to use the dog door and will run back and forth taking toys outside and chasing the squirrels and barking at the golfers. I use the outside to potty most of the time but still forget myself inside if I am too busy. 

I have a good appetite and am food motivated. I am not leash trained at this time, but I am quick to learn new things. I need a securely fenced back yard to run and play safely. I love to be with other dogs and have attached to one at my foster dad’s. We like to be together. My foster dad says that I am lots of fun and that I make him laugh every day.
