Parker in Dallas, TX

Here is Parker with his new family…

Meet Parker – A Resilient and Loving Soul Looking for His Forever Home

Parker is a beautiful Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a heart as gentle as his gaze. His life hasn’t been easy – he’s endured more than his fair share of hardship. This handsome boy is somewhere between 8 and 11 years old.

The first five years of Parker’s life were spent in a puppy mill, followed by time in private homes. He was born with luxating patellas in both legs (dislocated knees), which caused him significant pain and made walking difficult. When his previous owner could no longer manage his medical needs, she made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him to Cavalier Rescue USA.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of this organization and its donors, Parker received corrective surgery and today, he is pain-free and thriving! He has fully recovered and now enjoys running and playing with his foster siblings. His favorite pastime? Chasing his furry friends and playing with their toys. Parker is heart clear, and his bright, clear eyes sparkle with intelligence.

While Parker is healthy and happy, he has experienced two seizures over five months in foster care. He now takes anti-seizure medication three times daily and will need to remain on this regimen. He is completely house-trained and has never had an accident indoors, though he doesn’t alert when he needs to go out, so he’ll need gentle guidance and regular potty breaks.

Parker’s personality is sweet and gentle. He gets along well with other dogs, though he hasn’t been exposed to cats or children in foster care. Because of his background and timid nature, Parker needs time to build trust. He may retreat when meeting strangers and will likely seek out a safe spot, often a cozy couch, where he can observe and slowly learn to feel secure. This process takes months, not days, so his forever family must be patient and understanding, allowing Parker to adjust at his own pace.

He will thrive in a calm, quiet home, as sudden movements and loud noises can startle him. However, he’s perfectly fine with normal household sounds like TV or conversation. Parker would do best with someone who is home most of the time and with another small dog, as he learns and takes cues from canine companions. For his transition to go smoothly, we’re seeking adopters in the DFW area so his foster mom can assist.

If you think you would be able to provide him a loving, supportive home please email Shelby at shelbynfields@gmail.com to express your interest in this wonderful, special boy.

Eli in Rogersville, MO

Update 1-20-26: We think we have identified a great home for this pup so aren’t taking more applications for now. Thank you!

Meet Eli, a sweet-natured, energetic, and playful boy who came to Cavalier Rescue USA through a Good Samaritan. He is a healthy eight-month-old puppy. When Eli first came to his foster home, he preferred to stay in his crate, did not know how to eat from a bowl, and was overwhelmed by his new environment. He was skittish, shy, and stiff when held or touched.

Since his first days in foster care, Eli has blossomed. He overcame his initial fears and learned to eat from a bowl. Eli gently takes treats and licks cheese from his foster mom’s hand. He plays with his Cavalier housemates, enjoys fuzzy toys and chewing on bones!

On occasion, Eli’s foster mom would notice a sock in the middle of the floor.  She did not know how it got there. Finally, she caught Eli in the act of carrying a sock out of the bedroom. Eli doesn’t chew the socks. He just likes to carry them and leave them in odd places around the house.

Eli loves to jump on the couch and snuggle up close to his foster mom. He enjoys being petted, snoozing in her lap, or chewing on a bone tucked up close under her arm.

Eli is an active boy who will follow his foster mom around the house. He will come when called. He is learning to walk on a leash and needs training for basic commands such as sit and down. Eli sleeps all night in his crate and keeps it clean. He does very well on scheduled potty breaks and has had only a few accidents since coming to his foster home.

Although Eli has significantly improved, he remains cautious with people and is reluctant to approach. Given a minute to muster up his courage, Eli finds his way to your hand for a much wanted ear scratch, petting, and loving. Changes in his environment can cause Eli to become leery or scurry away. He notices even minor changes and needs a little time to process them.

He is an intelligent young boy, who approaches the world reluctantly and will back up to create distance with unfamiliar people or things. Once bonded with someone, however, he wants all the loving, snuggling, and petting he can get. Eli has come a long way since he arrived at his foster home and  is a brave boy. Nonetheless, he will need more time than most pups to adapt to his forever home.

Eli will make an ideal companion for a family with the time and patience to work with him on his people skills, home manners, and basic obedience. He will do best in a home with established routines and another easy-going, mature dog to help him navigate his forever home. Eli requires a secure physically fenced yard. If you can provide Eli’s forever home, please complete our online application if you haven’t already, and then please email Sarah Noebels at cavalierrescuesarah@gmail.com

Georgie in LaCrosse, WI

Meet Georgie, a 6 month old happy-go-lucky Blenheim Cavalier. Georgie is a young, playful puppy who is ready to find his forever home. Georgie loves his people and hanging out with them. He is good with adults, kids and other dogs. He gets along great with his foster siblings, playing chase with them outside. In the house, he is a bit more calm. He has met cats, horses and chickens and has not had much of a reaction to any of them. He will need to be neutered at the appropriate time. He is crate trained, house trained and current on his heartworm, flea and tic medications. He is a healthy boy with no medical issues.

Georgie eats well and loves his treats. So far, he has learned “sit”. He would do well with more training or doggie daycare to help develop his social skills and to challenge him mentally. He does, however, display respect for other dogs. He is learning about toys and bones. He is bursting with the potential to be the perfect family companion. He will do fine either as an only dog or with a pack.

He walks well on the leash with a harness. He is a real “go with the flow” kind of guy and will acclimate easily into a new environment. He does display some typical puppy behaviors but he will settle down once he is neutered. He jumps occasionally and barks. Training will help resolve that. He is a very friendly guy who will outgrow his puppy tendencies and mature into a calm, loving dog. He seems older than his six months and has so much love to share.

Georgie would do best with an active family that has kids. Ideally, he should be in a house with a yard. It would be best if the yard is fenced, but it’s not a requirement. He is a bigger boy, weighing in at 22 pounds. He will thrive with a family that includes him in all their adventures and he will be a loyal companion. The sedentary life is not for Georgie. He is smart and still learning, but promises to be a terrific, easy-going, friendly, happy addition to the right family.

If you think your family would be a good fit for Georgie, please complete our online application if you haven’t already. Then please email Gail Jansen at cavalierrescueusawimn@gmail.com to let her know that you are interested and would like to be considered to be his forever family.

Penny in Nashville, TN

Meet Penny, she’s a sweet 4-year-old Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel girl weighing 18 pounds and ready to steal your heart (and maybe your socks too!).

Penny came to rescue after her previous family faced a tough loss, and while she was deeply attached to one person, she’s blossomed in her foster home. She’s come out of her shell beautifully, forming strong bonds with both foster parents and cuddling up happily with the other Cavaliers. She’s gentle, loving, and very affectionate. She’s truly a companion dog at heart.

This good girl is fully house-trained with zero accidents in foster care. She goes out quickly to potty, then happily returns inside. At night, she sleeps contentedly in a crate with the door open, in her dog bed nearby, or would love to snuggle in bed with you if that’s your preference.

Penny has one adorable quirk: she’s a professional sock thief! Thankfully, she never chews or swallows them. If socks are left out, she’ll “help” by collecting them.

Walking is Penny’s absolute favorite thing; she walks with purpose, like she’s on an important mission, and she could go forever! A home that enjoys daily walks for exercise and bonding would be perfect for her. She rides wonderfully in the car or even a golf cart and loves being your constant shadow and companion.

She had a dental cleaning and is recovered from her spay. She’s microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and ready for her forever chapter.

Penny does best with minimal time alone; she has some anxiety when her people leave (panting and soft whining), and she can be a bit particular about new people entering the home (quiet growling or hiding at first, but never aggressive). A calm, patient home where someone is around most of the time, with no frequent travel without her, would help her continue thriving.

If you’re in the Nashville area (or nearby) and ready to give this loving, velcro girl the devoted home she deserves, please reach out! Email Liz Nigh, Tennessee Coordinator, at lizcavalierusa@gmail.com to express interest (include your city and state), and also complete an online application if you haven’t already.

Penny is waiting for her perfect match—could it be you?

Leo in Columbus, OH

Here is Leo with his new family…

This handsome little guy is Leo. He is a charming 4 year old Blenheim male who came to Cavalier Rescue USA when his owner was no longer able to care for him.

He is energetic and playful at times,  and calm, snuggly and full of kisses at other times. He is so eager to please that he generally lets you decide the mood. He listens very well, plays nicely, and can entertain himself independently with chew toys. He is quiet and well behaved when his foster mom works from home.

Leo walks very well on a leash, but loves to run fast. Therefore, he would really like a home with a fenced in back yard where he can zoom. He is housebroken, well trained (including reliable recall) but can get very excited by squirrels and other dogs. He was raised as an only pup, but gets along great with his foster mom’s other dogs, both of whom are very relaxed. Before coming to us from a family member’s home,  he was a little overwhelmed by active louder dogs and he is startled by loud noises. A calm, quieter environment is probably best for Leo. He does love to play, however, so older kids would be just great. Leo would do best in a home where someone was home most of the time.

This adorable 20 pound boy is heart-healthy, with luxating patellas in both knees that have not yet required treatment. He has mild seasonal allergies treated with OTC Benadryl.

Please read Our Process and FAQ sections. If your home is a match for Leo, please complete the online application if you haven’t already done so, and then email Sherry Morgan at morgans817@sbcglobal.net  Online Application

Sugar in Prairie Village, KS

Sugar is an incredibly sweet 6-year-old Blenheim girl looking for her forever home. Her previous owners had health issues and then moved into memory care. During that time, family members looked after Sugar. A few months later, her original owners passed away. No one in the family was able to offer enough time and attention to care for Sugar, and they wanted to find a good home for her. The family contacted Cavalier Rescue USA, and she was released to our care.

It would be difficult to find a Cavalier that is more good-natured than Sugar. She’s an absolute sweetheart and has been well-behaved at her foster home. She thinks the furniture is a comfortable place to sit and relax, and she absolutely loves to snuggle on the easy chair or the couch. At the vet’s office, while waiting in the exam room, she’ll jump up on a chair and sit there patiently. Sugar is polite and has good manners.

During her initial vet exam, we learned that Sugar has a grade 4 heart murmur. Besides needing a dental, Sugar had a fleshy growth under her tongue, causing her to drool. We scheduled the dental with our vet. Her teeth were cleaned, and the oral mass was removed and sent to pathology. Biopsy results indicated the mass was cancer, likely originating around the root of the tooth, near the bone. Our vet referred Sugar to a Veterinary Dentistry specialist for a consultation, and the specialist recommended surgery to remove the affected area, including a small front portion of her lower jaw. This procedure was Sugar’s best option and the only way to eliminate the cancer.

Sugar had the surgery in early December, and we were relieved to hear the good news that the surgery was successful. The biopsy report confirmed clean margins leaving no evidence of cancer. At her follow-up appointment, the vet said that Sugar was healing nicely and everything looked great.

The cost of Sugar’s surgery was possible thanks to the support of Cavalier Rescue USA and many wonderful donations. We are so grateful to those who donated funds for her surgery! Through the generosity of the organization and those who donated, Sugar is now cancer-free. She has recovered from her surgery and is back to eating regular dog food. You can hardly tell any difference in her appearance – she still has that sweet, adorable Cavalier face.

Sugar has seen a veterinary cardiologist and had an echocardiogram. The cardiologist prescribed Vetmedin which helps her feel her best. It was recommended that she follows up with the cardiologist in a year. She’s good about taking her pills, especially if they’re hidden in her food. She’s a good eater and LOVES her food, and she will bark or stand on her back legs if her food isn’t prepared fast enough.

Sugar is reliably house-trained, and she enjoys exploring the fenced backyard with foster parents’ dogs and sometimes likes to roll around on a soft patch of grass. She is hard of hearing but has learned some hand motions. When foster parents come home, she usually sleeps through the commotion of other dogs barking. Then she’ll wake up a few minutes later and go outside with everyone.

She’s definitely a Velcro dog, and she follows her foster parents around the house. She always wants to be near you, so we are looking for a home where she would not be left alone for long periods. She’s a very calm dog who gets along great with other dogs, though she would also be fine as an only pet. Sugar has an exceptionally sweet temperament – she is gentle with children and gets along with everyone.

Sugar weighs 23 pounds, and she is spayed and has recovered from her oral surgery. She’s micro-chipped, up to date on vaccinations, and current on monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventative. Sugar has a gentle, affectionate nature and is looking for a family to love.

Sugar is being fostered in Prairie Village, KS. If you think you might be the right person or family for her, please fill out our online application (if you have not done so already) – then contact Deborah Barnes at deborah@smarnes.com to let her know of your interest.
