Finn in Pittsburg, CA

This big, handsome, Blenheim boy is Finn. Finn is a 6 year old (born 2/22/20), big and tall Cavalier at 29 pounds but he’s not fat, he’s just fluffy!

Finn was surrendered to us with significant allergies that needed attention. He was miserable with severe yeast infections in his ears and paws. While in foster care he’s had a dental and started cytopoint allergy shots, as well as treatment for his ear and paw infections to finally get some relief. He is a happy boy now! His new family will need to be committed to his allergy treatment and keep an eye on his ears for possible infection.

Finn loves people and loves his foster siblings. He is houstrained and doesn’t mind his crate for a little while. He enjoys sleeping in the same room with you and would love an invitation to your big bed. He loves walks but pulls some on the leash. He is really excited when he sees the leash come out. He knows he is going bye bye. Finn is also really good in the car. He loves to give morning hugs and sometimes will look at you right in the eyes and put his face next to yours to give big hugs.

Finn will do best with a canine playmate and a fenced yard is a must. He would love daily walks. He likes to play fetch in your home or fenced yard.  Low alone time is needed for him so you’ll need to either work from home or be retired to be considered.

If you can give this sweet boy the home of his dreams and live within a couple of hours drive from his foster home in Pittsburg, CA please complete our online application if you haven’t already and then send an email to Sarah Knudsen, our Northern California Coordinator at sayrahk@gmail.com

Dixie in Nashville, TN

Update 3-23-26: We’ve received several promising applications for this pup so aren’t taking more applications for now. Thank you!

Hi! My name is Dixie, it’s nice to make your acquaintance! I am a sweet and beautiful Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I came to rescue from a breeder and am estimated to be around 5-years-old. I am sweet, curious and gentle. My favorite thing to do is hang out with my foster brother, I love following him around and seeing what he is up to, sometimes I even run and playfully tackle him which always makes my foster mom laugh.

Because of my background, I am a little bit shy and hope to find a forever home who is willing to be patient with me as I get more and more used to life in a safe and relaxed home. My foster parents have provided a great start, but I think this will be an ongoing process and would benefit from a family that is home most of the time to help with socialization.

I am very comfortable sleeping in my crate (with the door open) in my foster parent’s bedroom, but in my forever home I think I would like sleeping in the big bed, though I will likely need a set of stairs to help me get up and down like I do on the couch. I am generally a pretty quiet girl, I don’t mind the sound of vacuums, hairdryers or blenders, but I will definitely make my presence known at mealtimes when my foster mom is making dinner, I have to make sure she prepares everything just right! I will also let her know when I should get a treat after going potty outside, but other than that I am very quiet.

I am still learning what it means to be a house dog, so while I love sitting on the couch with my foster family, I still get a bit nervous if someone tries to reach for or pet my head – I much prefer sitting on laps or legs and having my rump/back patted. My foster mom thinks that in time I will warm up more to head scratchies.

My foster mom loves that I do not chew on shoes or furniture, but she has been introducing to me to good chew toys so I am not as interested in nibbling on cords or paper if something is dropped on the ground. I like my fluffy chew toys and Kong!

I love exploring my new backyard and laying in the sun. I haven’t yet figured out walking on a leash, so my adoptive family will need to have a fenced backyard and patience to see if leash walking is something we can learn together. That being said, I have done extremely well with potty training and have not had any accidents since my first day at my foster home. I think being with my foster brother helped me learn this quickly and my foster parents make sure to take us out regularly to do our business.

While I don’t mind riding in the car and I usually settle down quickly, I do get a bit carsick. My foster mom thinks some medication or a raised car seat might help this, but I would probably prefer to avoid frequent car rides since I get nauseous.

The vet gave me great health report with no health issues discovered! Since coming into rescue, I have been microchipped, brought up to date on vaccines and preventatives, been spayed and had several bad teeth pulled and now feel much better without those painful teeth.

I am a good girl with a lot of love to give and hope to find a quiet home with another dog (or more) to help me learn the ropes. I am not sure if I would like cats or not, but would probably benefit from a home where there are not small children who might grab at me. Older, more mature kids might be okay.

If you believe you are a great match for Dixie to be a forever part of your home, please email Liz Nigh, Coordinator of Tennessee at lizcavalierusa@gmail.com to let her know of your interest. Please indicate the city and state in which you’re located and be sure to complete an online application if you haven’t already done so. Bowie in Nashville, TN

Here is Bowie with her new family…

Bowie is a sweet but shy 1-year-old Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with lots of puppy energy and a love for toys and treats. She’s still growing into her personality, but one thing is clear, she enjoys the company of other furry friends. Seeing other dogs or cats immediately gets her tail wagging.

Bowie was given to rescue by a breeder. Because Bowie is still learning to trust people, she can be a little nervous when first picked up or handled. Once she feels safe, though, she happily settles in for cuddles. She’s generally a quiet pup who doesn’t bark much, but she will let you know when she needs something.

Bowie is just beginning to learn how to walk on a leash, and since she’s quite a speedy little runner, a fenced backyard will be important for her safety. She is also still working on potty training and making good progress. Car rides are new for her so use of a car seat would benefit as she can get a bit anxious and occasionally experiences motion sickness—but with patience and positive experiences, she should grow into a wonderful travel companion.

Having another pet in the home and a person who is home most of the time would help Bowie continue building confidence and adjusting to her new life. Socialization and gentle encouragement will be key to helping her thrive.

Since coming into rescue, Bowie has been spayed, brought up to date on all core vaccines and preventatives, and microchipped. She weighs 15 lbs. She is in very good health according to her veterinarian. Bowie is a quiet, loving girl who will blossom with time, patience, and understanding. Her future family will need to continue working on potty training and helping her become comfortable both inside and outside the home.

If you believe you could be the perfect forever home for Bowie, please email Liz Nigh, Tennessee Coordinator, at lizcavalierusa@gmail.com and include the city and state where you are located. If you have not already done so, please be sure to complete the online adoption application as well. All applicants who write in for this dog will be considered for any other dog under Liz Nigh on the website at this time.

Bitsy in Broken Arrow, OK

Here is Bitsy with her new family…

Hi, I’m Bitsy. I’m a lover who wants to be wherever you are! I’m young and energetic but I’ll slow down to cuddle frequently. My previous owner had a busy life and didn’t have enough time for me. I’m grateful she realized I need more people time. At my foster home, I stay in the big dining room with my foster siblings when the humans need to leave for a bit. We have nap practice so we are recharged and ready to run when they come home.

I’m incredibly cute. My foster mom says I have lovely chestnut markings on my sparkling white coat. My foster dad thinks I have the best ears: long, lush and perfect to catch the breeze.

My health is great. Heart, hips, and eyes clear.  I’m up to date on vaccines; spayed and microchipped.

I’d love to be with other dogs around my own age or senior dogs who still have a spark. It’s more fun to chase birds and butterflies as part of a team. I do need to learn boundaries at mealtime, so you will want to feed me separately. I’m an amazingly fast eater but I come with a slow feeder bowl as part of my factory equipment package. I’m a good sport about the bath thing, especially the massage part. I don’t mind a good brushing because it makes me prettier and keeps you glued to my side for a bit.

My foster humans say I’m good with housetraining unless I get distracted, but I do respond to redirection. It’s best if I go out right after meals and every few hours between. I’m learning to use a bell to alert when I need to go out. I will need time to learn your routine and where I’m supposed to take care of business. I expect you to accompany me on those outings.

I’m a dedicated avian enthusiast. I love to run after birds, or the shadows of birds, flying overhead. I run so fast I just might fly with them, so you need a secure, fenced yard. I’m told I’m more like a gazelle, but you’ll have to decide for yourself.

I’m learning to walk on a leash with my harness. I need to sniff everything and greet everyone, so walks take a bit of time. If you are willing to take me for positive reinforcement training, I bet I can blink my lashes and get a canine Good Citizen badge in no time.

If you are looking for a bright, energetic girl with sweet disposition and a bucketful of love to share, please fill out the on-line application, if you haven’t already, and contact Janis Stauffer at okstauffer@aol.com. We are limiting our search to within a day’s drive to Tulsa, OK.

Mr. Peabody in Belleville, IL

Mr Peabody is my name and I’m looking for my Sherman.

I’m a curious, beautiful and smart 2 year old male Blenheim Cavalier. I love to explore and then curl up in my foster mom’s lap for kisses and affection. She calls me a velcro dog. I even miss her when she just goes to take a shower!  I am neutered, crate trained and mostly house trained. Occasionally I use my foster sister’s potty pad, but I can be trained away from that. I sit on command and am food motivated (which makes training easier). I’m learning to walk on a leash and I am catching on to “wait” and “go” at intersections

I weigh in at 24 lbs and am free of a heart murmur. I’m up to date on my shots, and take a heart pill every month as well as flea/tick prevention. My left eye gets irritated in the spring, but it is easily treated with eye drops which will come with me to my new home.

At 2 years of age, I still have some puppy in me. Zoomies tend to happen nightly but I wear down and go to sleep in my crate shortly thereafter. They say that zoomies are a sign of a happy, secure dog and it’s fun to watch how my humans react to my zoomies.

My favorite activities include watching horses and dogs on tv and looking out the windows. I enjoy playing tug with my foster siblings. Being brushed is great and I like to play ball in the house. I’m great with dogs my own size, and I have not met any cats just yet.  I love being outside. Squirrels and birds intrigue me. I need a fenced yard, at least 6’ high. I have jumped over the lower ones and sometimes dig under the fence. Someone needs to be outside with me at all times so I don’t get distracted by a new scent and try to follow it.

I have some resource guarding issues with my foster siblings, so I need to eat separately from any other dogs in the house. I would do well with an active family, or other dogs in the house. I can be an only dog but would need to be kept busy.

If you think this sweet, loving dog would fit well with your family, please complete our online application, if you have not already done so, and let the regional coordinate, Meg, know of your interest, cavalierrescuemeg@gmail.com

Romeo in Summerville, SC

“Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?”

This Romeo is most often found curled up in his foster mom’s lap — sometimes belly-up, happily soaking in massages and belly rubs.

Romeo is a 5-year-old Blenheim boy, born on 11/25/20. He is a sweet, gentle love sponge who will steal your heart simply by gazing into your eyes. He’s an excellent listener who adores everyone he meets — including other dogs and even cats. Romeo is happiest when his family is together. He thrives on companionship and also enjoys a good game of fetch!

Hopelessly devoted and eager to please, Romeo forms deep bonds with his people. He came to Cavalier Rescue USA after his beloved owner became ill and could no longer care for him.

Romeo would do best in a home with active owners who can include him in daily activities, or with someone who is home most of the time. Being with his family is what he loves most — aside from food and treats, of course!

He is housebroken with regular walks and will grumble at the door to let you know when he needs to go out. If his signal is missed, he may have an occasional accident. Romeo loves long walks, trips to the dog park, and outings to hardware and pet stores. He walks well on leash but may pull if he spots a bird, rabbit, or squirrel. A fenced yard would be ideal.

Romeo weighs 27 pounds and is in good health. His heart and hips/joints are currently sound. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.

Romeo does have environmental dermatitis and will require ongoing dermatology care to prevent flare-ups. Skin testing can help determine triggers and guide treatment, which may involve daily medication or a quarterly injection.  We’re looking for a family in close driving distance to Summerville to continue his care at his established dermatology specialist.  He will also need at least two baths per month using a high-quality anti-itch or oatmeal shampoo.

He recently had dental care completed, including the extraction of seven teeth. Romeo eats ½ cup total (combined dehydrated food and kibble) twice daily — morning and evening. During the day, he enjoys healthy store-bought treats along with fresh fruits and vegetables.

If you’re ready to welcome this devoted, affectionate boy into your heart and home, please complete our online application if you have not already done so and reach out to our Rescue Coordinator, Gwen Cover, at  ckcsrescuesc@gmail.com.
