Ruby and Lucy are a bonded pair of 7 year old Cavalier girls who are ready to fill a home with love. These affectionate ladies came into rescue when their owner lost her home. She knew they needed to be safe in a warm, caring home.

Ruby and Lucy had separation anxiety when they first came into rescue. They would find any means to get to their foster Mom, even leaping over a 3 ft gate to get to her. With love, training and patience, they soon blossomed into two happy, confident girls that are thrilled with being with their foster mom and siblings.

Ruby is a 20 pound Ruby who is happy, loving, and laidback. She adores everyone, human and canine. She runs around the backyard like a young pup. Her favorite thing in the world is laying by you while you gently pet her. She will let you know if she wants more by tapping you with her nose. She enjoys looking out the front window with her foster siblings to make sure her home does not get invaded by outsiders. Ruby was spayed, microchipped and had a dental where she lost 19 teeth. She is eating well on kibble with a small amount of canned food.

Lucy is a 14 pound Blenheim who only wants to curl up right next to you. She will try to figure out where you are going to sit next and before you turn around, there she is waiting for you. Eventually you will see her curled up by Ruby for a nap. Lucy was spayed, microchipped and had a dental, where she sadly lost all of her teeth. She is doing well on small kibble mixed with water and some canned food.

Vetting revealed that both Ruby and Lucy are congenitally sound with good eyes, knees, hips and heart. All of their lab work came back normal and negative. They have been treated for very bad ear infections in both ears, which will need to be cleaned weekly. They are both on monthly heartworm and flea/tick medication.

Ruby and Lucy are housebroken if taken outside regularly or will go on a pee pad if needed. They have mastered the doggie door, but still wish to go out with their foster Mom and siblings.

Lucy is a very fast eater and will attempt to consume the other dogs’ food if she can. Her foster Mom separates her in another room to help with this. They both sleep in the kitchen near their foster siblings, but should do well sleeping in a bed.

Ruby and Lucy’s ideal home is one where someone is home most of the time. Another like-sized canine would be great. They have not been tested around cats or children.
