Jax in St. Louis, MO

Hi, my name is Jax! I’m a handsome, 2-year-old Blenheim Cavalierl boy born 3/13/23, and my journey has been a little different from most dogs my age. I came from a commercial breeder who was retiring, where I was used for breeding before I was rescued. Because of that, I didn’t get the chance to experience the love, play, and comfort that most puppies do when they’re young. When I first arrived at my foster home, I was very scared and unsure of everything around me.

I currently sleep in a crate, but would LOVE to snuggle in the big bed. My foster mom says I have been such a good boy and am reliably housetrained. She took me to the vet where I was neutered and had my teeth cleaned. YUK, not fun, but she said it was needed.

With patience, kindness, and a gentle touch, my foster mom has shown me what it feels like to be safe. Little by little, I’ve been learning to trust. At first, I would shy away and watch from a distance, but now I’m starting to follow my foster mom around, enjoy snuggles, and even wag my tail when I see her. I’m also learning from my foster siblings—watching them play has given me the courage to try joining in, and it turns out playing is actually pretty fun!

I’m still gaining confidence, but I’ve already come so far. Each day I’m showing more of my sweet, gentle personality, and I can’t wait to keep blossoming with a family of my very own. I’ll do best in a patient and loving home where I can continue to feel safe as I grow. With time and love, I know I’ll become the loyal, affectionate companion I was always meant to be.

My foster mom says: Jax has come a long way in a very short time. He is learning to trust people and know that we have nothing but love to give. He has been fully vetted, shots are up to date, his teeth were cleaned, and none were lost. He is now on a diet of good healthy food, and doing well. He is also on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Jax would do well as an only dog if there is someone home with him most of the day or with another dog in the house to help him learn how to be a dog.

If you’re looking for a tender-hearted boy who just needs a chance to shine, I think we’d be the perfect match. If you feel like Jax might be a good match for you, please complete our online application, if you have not already done so, and then email Sarah Noebels at Cavalierrescuesarah@gmail.com to let her know of your interest.

Sunny in Laguna Hills, CA

Meet Sunny! This 11-month-old Blenheim Cavalier born 10/11/25, is as cheerful as his name suggests. He came into rescue when his owner could no longer care for him and has been thriving in foster care ever since.

Sunny is a gentle, affectionate pup who starts off timid but quickly warms into a snuggly cuddle monster. He’s usually very quiet and doesn’t even bark when the doorbell rings, only when the evil gardener invades his yard. Sunny loves being near his people, and enjoys watching TV, especially baseball, where he happily bats around his little yellow ball when he hears “Shohei Ohtani!”

He gets along beautifully with the three Cavaliers in his foster home and will do best in a household with one or more confident canine companions to guide him. Sunny looks to other dogs for reassurance, and they have played a big role in building his confidence. Sunny is gentle with senior dogs and understands that they may not want to play with him. He isn’t aggressive towards cats and after an initial sniff test, he takes social cues from the cat about how the relationship between them should be. He’s shy with small children, so a home with older, dog-savvy older kids would be best if there are children in the family.

While in rescue, Sunny was neutered (including cryptorchid surgery due to an undescended testicle), microchipped, and brought up to date on vaccinations. In his foster home, Sunny has learned house manners and mastered sit and recall. At mealtime, he waits calmly for his snood and slow feeder. “Good boy Sunny!” are his favorite words. He’s crate trained, often putting himself to bed after evening cuddle time, and sleeps soundly through the night. Potty training is improving, but he’ll need continued consistency, frequent breaks, and may benefit from a belly band as he adjusts to a new home. He’s still wary of doggy doors and busy streets, but with encouragement he’s making steady progress.

Like most young Cavaliers, Sunny is playful, energetic, and loves toys with fetch being his specialty. He spends a lot of time bouncing from toy to toy and also is learning what is not appropriate to chew. A secure fenced yard is a must for this curious boy, as he loves to run and explore. Walks are getting easier with training, though loud noises and school buses can spook him. Puppy classes are strongly encouraged to help with socialization, build confidence, and strengthen the bond with his new family.

Sunny’s ideal home will be patient, experienced, and willing to provide structure, reassurance, and lots of positive reinforcement. Once you earn his trust, this little ray of sunshine will be your loyal, loving sidekick forever. Applicants should live within a reasonable drive of Laguna Hills, CA. If you feel you can provide Sunny with all he needs to mature into his best self, please complete an online application if you haven’t done so already. Then email Nanci at nancigordon@gmail.com to let her know to consider you as Sunny’s new family.

Nick in Whittier, CA

Meet Nick, a sweet and handsome Ruby Cavalier, born 12/13/2015, who is ready to be your built-in best friend! Nick’s journey into rescue began after spending years with a breeder who released him to CR-USA so he could experience a carefree life.

With his calm and easygoing nature, Nick is the perfect companion for anyone looking for a loyal little shadow. He loves people and has been wonderful with older children. While he hasn’t been around very young kids, there’s every reason to believe he would be just as kind and accepting. The only thing he’s not fond of are cats. He actually doesn’t even mind the neighborhood squirrel that frequents the backyard of his foster home.

Potty training has been a breeze for Nick, and he’s as reliable as can be.

At night, Nick prefers to curl up at the base of your bed, though he’ll sometimes move to the floor if he gets too warm. What he really wants most is to be near his people. Whether you’re moving around the house or spending time in the yard, Nick will follow along happily, always ready to keep you company. He is content as long as you don’t leave him for long since he exhibits mild separation anxiety, Nick is low-maintenance, doesn’t ask for fancy toys or beds, and truly finds his greatest joy in simply being loved.

While in rescue, he had a dental with several extractions. He is up to date on vaccines and received an allergy injection. He takes a daily medication and a joint supplement to help with mild age-related mobility issues. The good news is that as a senior Cavalier, Nick is heart healthy and will often zoom around like a much younger pup. Nick is deaf, however that doesn’t slow him down one bit. He’s a quick learner and is already picking up some hand signals. He weighs 19 lbs.

Sweet as can be, this chill little dude is ready to brighten someone’s life with his steady devotion and gentle presence. If you feel you can provide this handsome senior with affection, attention and lots of togetherness, please complete an online adoption application if you haven’t done so already. Then email Nanci at nancigordon@gmail.com to let her know of your interest in Nick.

Simon in Chicago, IL

Simon is a 3-year-old Blenheim Cavalier born 4-1-22 . He is a sweet, curious, smart, and tall boy!

He was at a breeding facility for the first two years of his life. He started showing signs of not being well and was given away to his first home to try to figure out what was going on. He continued to lose weight over the next year, and the owner reached out to Cavalier Rescue USA to help as the medical expenses were too much.

After blood work it was determined that Simon has Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency, known as EPI. When you have EPI, your body can’t digest food and absorb nutrients properly because your pancreas isn’t making enough enzymes. Fortunately EPI is a manageable condition! Simon takes a pancreatic enzyme supplement powder sprinkled on his food and gobbles it right up. He will require this supplement for the rest of his life. The enzymes are about $200 per month.

Simon’s health has greatly improved since being on the enzymes! He has gone from 13lbs to 18lbs in only a few months! His stools are still a little softer than we would like them to be so we are adding in a daily probiotic in hopes this will help and the cost of this is minimal. Additionally Simon had 9 teeth pulled during a much needed dental procedure – don’t worry he has plenty more and can eat food, treats and bones with no problems.

Simon would be best in a home where he will have plenty of attention and time with his person or people. He does not like when his person leaves the house so he will need some extra care and patience working with him to help him with this extreme separation anxiety. He is currently on anti-anxiety medication to help manage his separation anxiety. The cost of these meds is minimal.

He LOVES going places with his people. His foster family lives in a very dog friendly community so he has been enjoying going shopping, out to eat, and anywhere his foster family goes!

Separation anxiety is common to see in a dog that has been through what Simon has been through. Due to his rough beginning he does not like to be in a kennel- ideally he would not need to use one and would have a room or safe space for him to be when he is home alone.

Simon prefers to be as close as possible to his person and prefers to sleep in his dog bed next to his foster family’s bed with space to roam. He is reliably house trained but will still need to learn his forever family’s routine and may take some time to adjust in his new home.

He does well with other dogs both on leash and in the home  and would benefit from having another friendly confident dog in the house to learn from and ease his anxiety. He has not been exposed to cats but based on his interest in all smaller animals and the interest of trying to eat them  – a cat free house would be best. He definitely has the Cavalier hunting instinct!  He enjoys long walks and has good leash etiquette. He would love to take in all the animals while on walks, relaxing at the park or in a yard. He is food motivated but is polite when he is told no.

He is still learning how to be a dog in many ways, after all he was in a kennel for most of his life. He would love to learn new tricks and commands and does great with kids!

If you feel like Simon might be a good match for you, please complete our online application, if you have not already done so, then email Meg Hutson Eisenmenger at Cavalierrescuemeg@gmail.com  to let her know of your interest.

Corbett in Bothell, WA

We’re excited to introduce you to Corbett, also known as Corby! This 8-year-old tricolor boy is full of personality and acts much younger than his age. He came into rescue after his owner died, and the neighbors could not keep him since he chased their indoor cat.

So, what makes Corby so full of personality? It starts with his big smile and silly puppy-like antics. It includes his love of playing with toys, balls, and bones, and his uncanny ability to sniff them out when tucked away. You can’t forget his mischievous nature since he always seems to be on the lookout for toilet paper to unroll and paper products to eat. His enthusiastic personality also comes through at mealtime when he reminds you it’s time to eat, where the food is located, and if you’re taking too long.

Corby loves big too. He’s a sweet, devoted companion and always wants to be close by. He’ll follow you around and then plop on your lap when it’s time to relax. He’ll also give you heartfelt kisses, if you let him. When it’s time for bed, he expects to sleep in the big bed with you, preferably with his head on your pillow, though his snoring may make this difficult for light sleepers. He will sleep in a crate but barks for a while before settling, and occasionally during the night so you don’t forget he’s there.

Corby is always up for an adventure and is a great traveler. He came into rescue out of shape and overweight, but he’s lost a couple of pounds and is now able to go on 30-minute walks and run up a flight of stairs. He weighs about 27 lbs, though his ideal weight is closer to 24-25 lbs. While he’s a big boy, his thick, luscious coat exaggerates his size. The hair on top of his head tends to fall in his eyes like long bangs, so sometimes you’ll find tiny clips holding it back while out for a walk or playing with toys.

Corby is great with other dogs and seems to like the companionship of his foster family’s Cavalier. He sometimes barks at dogs while on walks, but he responds to redirection and treats.

Since coming into rescue, Corby has had dental with extractions and treatment for ear infections. The vet suspects Corby has a mild case of SM because of face rubbing and an intermittent head tilt, and prescribed gabapentin which Corby now takes 2-3 times a day.

If you’re looking for a dog that will make you smile and keep you entertained, Corby is your guy! He’s a great fit for an adult home where he’ll get plenty of attention, walks, play sessions, snuggles, and adventures too. He’ll likely do best with another dog, especially for those times you need to be away from home, but he is not compatible with cats. Please note that Corby is not a match for families with kids due to eating things he shouldn’t, such as small toys and paper products, and stealing food if given the opportunity.

If you’d like to be considered for Corby’s forever family, complete the online application (if you haven’t previously) and email Melissa Cincotta at happycavaliers04@gmail.com so she knows of your interest. Corby currently splits his time between Bothell and Pacific Beach, WA.
